Conference Description

Climate change is recognized as a priority challenge that humanity is facing in the 21st century and some of its consequences – like increased frequency and intensity of natural hazards – are already being felt.

As more young people than ever before live in the world, on the eve of events that will affect them during their whole lives, capacitating and involving young people in the response to climate change is crucial.

The goal of the competition is to provide young people with different backgrounds, to address global problems and find solutions through the development level of knowledge in Climate Change.

We want to see, in pictures, the Climate Change problems and solutions that are important to participants. This could be a piece of research that has the potential to cure disease, an environmental issue that needs more urgent attention, or a subject matter that you are particularly passionate about.

Photography has the power to capture the attention and interest of everyone, leaving them wanting to find out more and asking their own questions about what they see. Entries should aim to make the audience mindful about the issue that is being illustrated.

It is only open to amateur photographers and entrants can submit up to three photographs to the competition .

Participants must complete the registration form and send it along with photographs and Fee payment slip to crrdsc@yahoo.com using the subject line: Photography Competition 2012.

The award-winning Photographs will be evaluated by a panel of professionals judges.

The best Photographs will be published monthly in the edition and mass-media.

Short-listed entrants (which will be reimbursed travel and accommodation ) will be invited to an awards ceremony at the Constantin Brancusi Exhibition Centre of the Union of Artists on the International Day for Natural Disaster on 10 October 2012.

At the award ceremony will be invited representatives of government, embassies, diplomatic missions, sponsors and other officials.

The event includes a guest speaker, exhibition of winning photographs and a canapé and drinks reception.

There are two categories of award:

(There will be additional prizes for the runner-up and highly commended entries to each competition)
